Most stories about teenage young couples focus only on the way how they strive for their love, and ended with a classical romantic ending. However, In “Two Youngs”, Derek Yee tells the same story in a more realistic way. He used a mature angle to treat this topic. Portrayal of the eloped couple’s challenging life, and the relationship with their parents are the essence of the story. This make the movie more educational. Just like most of Yee’s movie, it is close to the reality and brings out a certain living principle. Derek Yee is a director who knows how to find the most appropriate actors for his movies. The 2 youngs, Jaycee Chan and Fiona Sit give a fresh impression to the audience. Different from the other young romantic movies, they are not selling an image of pop idols, instead they successfully portrait the simple young couples in a mature way. On the other hand, the supporting characters, Eric Tsang, Anthony Wong, Candy Yu, Teresa Mo are all experienced good actors, while performing their role appropriately; they also act as the catalyst which lead the 2 youngs more devoted to act.
